Accommodation information

There a number of accommodation options in the viscinity of the Center for Astrophysics (CfA) and this page hightlights some options that are closest. Accommodation costs can become expensive in the Boston metropolitan area during the summer season, therefore early reservations are recommended. Please note that this list is not exaustive, therefore also consider searching hotel price comparison websites or bed and breakfast options.
 

1. Hotel 1868

Conveniently located within Porter Square, Cambridge, Hotel 1868 is easily accessible by public transport and approximately a 15 minute walk to the CfA. A limited number of rooms have been reserved at the following reduced rates:

• Mini Queen: $215 + tax /night
• Standard Queen: $239 + tax /night

To access these reduced rates guests are required to call the hotel on (+01) 617-499-2998 and quote the reservation code HTRN24 when making your booking. Please note that this code will not work on any website, including the Hotel 1868 website. This rate is available on a first-come-first-serve basis, and the code will remain active until the reserved rooms sell out, or until 22 June 2024 (whichever comes first). If these rates are unavailable, please consider booking the Poter Square Hotel reduced rates below.
 

2. Porter Square Hotel

Also conveniently located within Porter Square, the Porter Square Hotel is easily accessible by public transport and less than 20 minute walk to the CfA. A limited number of rooms have been reserved at the following reduced rates:

• Petite Double Twin: $215 + tax /night
• Petite Queen: $225 + tax /night
• Deluxe Double Twin: $235 + tax /night
• Deluxe Queen: $239 + tax /night

To access these reduced rates guests are required to call the hotel on (+01) 617-499-3399 and quote the reservation code HTRN24 when making your booking. Please note that this code will not work on any website, including the Poter Square Hotel website. This rate is available on a first-come-first-serve basis, and the code will remain active until the reserved rooms sell out, or until 22 June 2024 (whichever comes first). 3. Other nearby accommodation options

A number of other nearby accommodation options are also available at a range of price points:

• The Sheraton Commander Hotel, Cambridge, is approximatey a 10 minute walk to the CfA. It is next to historic Cambridge Common and on bus routes (numbers 74, 75 or 78) that pass the CfA.
• Prentiss House by Thatch, Cambridge, is approximatey a 12 minute walk to the CfA, with easy access to nearby restaurants and bars.
• The Charles Hotel, Cambridge, is approximatey a 20 minute walk to the CfA, within the heart of Harvard Square.
• The Freepoint Hotel, Cambridge, is approximately 22 minute walk to the CfA. It is located along Concord Avenue, Cambridge, and is on bus routes (numbers 74 or 78) that pass the CfA. There is a complimentary shuttle service that operates to/from the CfA.
• The Cambria Hotel, Somerville, is approximatey a 30 minute walk to the CfA. Public transport to the CfA will require connections in Porter Square or Harvard Square.
